Sorry about the ranting. Anyways, I've been trying to get writing done and failing. I have random ideas in my head, but none of them make it to paper/computer. (idk, I write on the computer mostly, so I don't know if it counts as paper.) Anyways, as a distraction/possible reboot of my muse/system to get me writing more, IT'S MEME TIME. (Come on like you weren't expecting it. This is what happens when I don't feel well. Well that and I sign up for things but so far I haven't.)
So...
Pick a TV show that you know or think I’m familiar with, and I will tell you my...

Date: 2014-08-14 08:15 pm (UTC)Could I have Hunger Games for the first meme, and Finnick Odair for the second?
no subject
Date: 2014-08-14 08:27 pm (UTC)Its very true. I'm just tired of my writing slump. My first priority is a b-day presnt that's already late and still has a lot of work to do on it. I have it like half written out in my head but everytime I look at it, my mind goes blank. Second priority is my exchange work, just so I'm not completly scrambling at the deadline, but I have some stuff written for that, so I'm less focused. But still. It seems like anything I attempt/look at (time sensative or not) my muse goes running from. Like you said, some days writing just doens't happen.
I could...try these. But remember, I actually haven't read/seen THG's. (Though from my f-list, I'd say I probably should. It just hasn't happened yet.)
no subject
Date: 2014-08-14 08:39 pm (UTC)I haven't even started on my exchange, mostly because I had another one due tomorrow. So, you know, you're my superhero for starting yours :).
no subject
Date: 2014-08-14 08:50 pm (UTC)LOL, well who knows how much of it will end up in the end result. But I do like being called a superhero. ;D But you doing more than one exchange at a time, way more then I could do, so maybe your the superhero.

Date: 2014-08-14 09:08 pm (UTC)I think we can agree that you're the superhero, and I'm the crazy person.
no subject
Date: 2014-08-14 09:29 pm (UTC)and never completed one. shhhh.LOL, well who said a superhero couldn't be a little crazy? It makes them have more character. :D

Date: 2014-08-14 09:43 pm (UTC)I decided I need an office to write, because once I get home I get distracted by EVERYTHING. Like, yesterday I hand-wrote 1k words while waiting for a meeting in a coffee shop! Why can't this be happening now?
And yes, this is my Elena Hunger Games fic! I just made a big post about it, because I'm an egomaniac XD. I think it could help you decide whether or not you want to read this fic?
I completed 3 bigbangs so far, all of them about Elena XD. But this time I'll be signing up with a different fandom, so I have a bit of stage fright ;).
Lol fair re: crazy superheroes. Still, there's a line between heroic and stupid ;).
no subject
Date: 2014-08-14 10:50 pm (UTC)A VERY TRUE STATEMENT. and also a good possible tag. just saying. :D
LOL, I'm very much like that. Things are so very distracting and even when I'm bored of everything almost, it seems like I can find something to distract me from writing if I attempt it. LOL, I actually found that sometimes being someplace else, waiting for other things, actually brings out my creative side/gives me all the ideas. If I'm lucky I have something to write on. If not I just have to rememember it all. But I totally agree. The muse is so fickle about when and where it wants to show up.
I shall have to read it so I can get some more information! (I'm pretty sure I'm going to read it either way though. I'm pretty sure you gave me a link to help me know the universe a bit better before hand, so I'll just probably try to read that first before I do. And also, I need the time/brain power to sit down and read it/understand words, LOL.
Elena is a good big bang subject though. :D What new fandom are you going to be trying out if you don't mind me being nosy? (Hopefully you don't, I'm nosy by nature.)
LOL, true. But I've watched enough superhero shows/movies to know that the superheroes are often stupid. Its just in their nature. :D

Date: 2014-08-14 09:23 pm (UTC)favorite male character: I try to figure this out and it usually ends up with a tie between Wesley and Angel. (Which makes me feel bad about Gunn because I love him too, just not as much.) Wesley wins in a lot of ways, but Angel and his dorkiness sometimes wins me over in an episode, but overall story-arc and character wise Wesley probably wins. That and his scruff.
favorite female character: Fred. Fred's one of my favorite characters in general.
prettiest character: My crush on Amy Acker makes me say Fred. But Cordelia is gorgous too.
funniest character: They all make me laugh, but probably Cordelia. Intentionally anyways with her sarcasm and just saying whatever's on her mind. Angel's dorkiness that I mentioned always made me giggle. Him and his anti-hero, save the world talk, that tries to talk Wesley into wearing the pink helmet/imagining himself dance/loving the ballet or getting excited over his turn in getting bandaged up.
favorite season: I go so against the grain with this one from what I've seen in fandom, but season four. I love Cordelia so I understand why so many people don't like what they did with her character, but its my favorite season. I just love all the storylines and how they did it all and the twists and turns and the darker sides of the characters that come out. I just love it all.
favorite episode: Supersymmetry. Again, my Fred love is showing, but its still my favorite. (I can list a lot more I love too, but this one really does top the list for me. Though I just watched There's No Place Like Pltz Blrb (I probably butchered that last part) and I love what it shows for all the characters.)
favorite romantic ship: Wesley/Fred. (I also have a lot of love for Angel/Cordelia, Angel/Darla and Wesley/Lilah)
favorite family ship: Well really Angel and Connor is the only legit family and not found family relationship we actually see explored on the show. And I did find it fasinating. So I guess them. Though I also really enjoyed the Burkles (the one functional family on the show), and any mention of Wesley and his relationship with his father. I loved the little pieces of that we got, as well as "Lineage" even if it wasn't really his father. (That episode would make it on my favorites list.)
favorite friend ship: Fred and Lorne overall. But then also early seasons Cordie-Wesley-Gunn. (But it makes me sad that it all crumbled in the end and even after the mindwipe Wesley and Gunn still seemed distant, so sometimes I don't like to think about it, even though its realistic in a lot of ways.)
Wesley
OTP: Wesley/Fred
OTF: Wesley/Angel fasinates me how it changes and all its dynamics over the years. Also the early years Wesley/Cordelia. I loved their banter and how they had to learn to see each other for who they are. And also their scene where they pretend to be Angel and Buffy. I mean, how could I not?
OT3: Fred/Wesley/Illyria (Does that count as an OT3? Idk, I just love the dynamic and there should have been more of it on the show, so even if its like phantom Fred/dream Fred or duel personailites Illyria or something, I'd take it.)
NOTP: I don't know if I have one. I don't really slash Wesley, so probably count those out for me and I have a good amount of ships for him canon or not (like Wesley/Faith, I don't think I mentioned that one), so I don't know if I have an actual answer for this one. I might be thinking on it now...

Date: 2014-08-14 10:58 pm (UTC)YES! AS SHE SHOULD EVERYBODY. SERIOUSLY SO MUCH LOVE FOR HER AND I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE DOES NOT AGREE. obviously we just have better taste than most.
And yes. Supersymmetry is amazing and its so wonderful for all its Fred and her hardness and just yes. And yes, it shows so much of why I love Wesley/Fred and why they work. He cautions her, yes, but he never even blinks when she says she wants to murder someone. And it just--I would have loved to see more explorations of that. And yes, S5 would have been super interesting if we had seen so much of the baggage and relationship they had in S4. I mean as it is, we never know how much of it was still there and how much of it was erased. What parts they remembered and what parts were gone. I would have loved if Wesley had discovered the spell and broken it earlier in the season, so Fred would have gotten a chance to remember it all as well. And for us to see what it meant for them, what and if it changed anything. Alas, these are the things that must be tackled in fanfic now.
I know. Its such a perfect Wesley episode. And Denisof and his delivery of practically everything but for me always the part where he shoots and then when he tells Fred with complete honesty that he believed it was his father. Like you said shaking and chills.

Date: 2014-08-17 08:42 pm (UTC)What's most interesting in Fred/Wesley for me is that they both have those fairy tale notions of love that they nurse -- not because they're so naive, but because they have hope for something beautiful. And I want to see their relationship when those fairy tale notions are gone, and they're left with the ugly truth. Forever bitter the show didn't give it to me.
Denisof should be illegal.

Date: 2014-08-15 10:39 pm (UTC)SMALLVILLE
favorite male character: Lex is probably my favorite overall, we got a lot more of him, though I dislike his ending(s) in both S7 (or I guess S8) and in S10. Oliver is right there after him. Apparently I like emotionally damaged billionaries. *shrugs*
favorite female character: Chloe. She is actually my favorite character from the show as a whole, which watching live was so hard because I kept being afraid she would die all the time. BUT SHE LIVED! :D Seriously though, my sv tag is pretty much always Chloe related. (Second place falls to Tess, she suffered from some bad writing/storylines, but her character was solid and it was interesting to see her go from anti-hero to possible hero.
prettiest character: Bias, says Chloe. But all the girls were gorgous. As well as all of the boys. Pretty much if you were on Smallville, you were ridiculously good looking. My get out of it answer for this, is prettiest guest star, which I'd say is Zatanna/Selinda Swann. She's gorgous.
funniest character: I love Chloe's snark. And Lois has some pretty good lines, especially in the early seasons, and Clark was funny, but usually in an unintentional way. Like him dancing in Spell never fails to make me giggle. Basically Clark being a big dork makes me laugh, but its not like intentionally. By him anyways.
favorite season: Season three. I love all the Chloe/Luthor stuff. It remains my favorite storyline and I SO wish they had continued further with it. (S8 is probably second, again for all the Chloe stuff.)
favorite episode: I can't pick just one. But I know it would end up being Chloe-centric. Almost all of my favorite episodes are.
favorite romantic-ship: It's a tie. Chloe/Lex was my first SV love that I'm still not completely over (no matter how hard SV crushed that dream and they crushed it hard), but my second is Chloe/Oliver. I had been shipping it since S6 with no expectations that it would actually happen and then it did and while there should have been more of it to fill in gaps, I loved every moment of it we got. (I actually have a lot of Chloe ships though. Chloe/Davis is high up there and the list of Chloe crossover ships...We'd be here forever.)
favorite family-ship: Chloe and Lois is probably my favorite. Though they don't explore it nearly enough. Lex and Lionel is second, but for very different, very disfunctional, but so hard to look away from, kind of reasons.
favorite friend-ship: I love early seasons Clark-Chloe-Pete. And I also really love Chloe and Lana, both the good and the bad and how they loved each other but also envied each other's role in Clark's life. It was super interesting and should have been explored more too. (I'm saying that a lot. LOL. SV, filled with so much potential.)
CHLOE
OTP: Chloe/Oliver (but also Chloe/Lex)
OTF: Probably Chloe and Lois. But I already talked about them, so...I did love Chloe and Clark and their relationship. I just wish it had ended differently. All that time deconstructing it in S9, I wish we had gotten to see it come full circle in S10.
OT3: I always have a hard time with this one. Either Chloe/Oliver/Tess or Tess/Clark/Lois.
NOTP: Chloe/Jimmy is like my anti ship. I just--It will never make sense to me and made me so angry at times. (I was also really not a fan of Lois/Grant but I really didn't like Grant, so you know, that probably didn't help.)

Date: 2014-08-27 05:04 am (UTC)Doctor Who (Full disclosure, I have only seen the Amy Pond years/episodes of DW. My friend introduced me to the series in S5 and I fell in love with her. And I ended up leaving when she did. I always had plans on going back. I heard good things about Clara. But it just hasn't happened yet. I also have plans for watching the earlier episodes, but alas, that hasn't happened either.)
* favorite male character: Eleven
* favorite female character: Amy, lol, I think she was the reason I watched the show in the beginning. She had me when she tied up the doctor and then later when she yelled "why did you only say five minutes?". And then she tied up the doctor again with his tie in the locked car door. I mean what wasn't to love.
* prettiest character: Amy. Again.
* funniest character: I keep saying Amy, so I'm going to avoid that. I was always a big fan of Craig and when he would appear. He made me laugh how he didn't know how to react to the doctor and really his whole demeanor. (Also I have no place else to mention him.)
* favorite season: Season Five.
* favorite episode: Vincent and the Doctor. Such a wonderful episode. It makes me laugh and it makes me cry and so much wonderful Amy.
* favorite romantic ship: I admit it, I shipped Amy/Eleven hard. I still do. They were too tragic/never going to happen for me not to. (I've also been converted to the Amy/Dawn side, if crossovers are allowed.)
* favorite family ship: Hmmm...I guess Amy and River. I always liked their relationship, though was sad about the lack of follow through with a lot of it. But you know, headcanon/fic and all that.
* favorite friend ship: Hmmm...If I say Amy/the Doctor again, is that bad?
Dawn! I love talking about Dawn.
OTP: If I have a major Dawn ship for the Buffyverse, its probably Dawn/Spike. I love their dynamic and I can defenitely see it carried over romantically. But its not what I would normally say is otp material. Also, some Dawn/Faith. Though I'm much less sure of the why.
OTF This might actually be Spike/Dawn, but above, so Dawn and Tara. I loved their relationship and how Tara kind of took over the mother figure but still friend role for Dawn when she needed it and how she went out of her way to make sure Dawn always knew she was there for her no matter what happened with Willow. Which of course, makes Dawn finding Tara's body all the more heart breaking. (Also Dawn and Buffy, but their sisters, so their friends but also family...so its complicated. But their relationship is probably my favorite Dawn relationship on the show, there's just not a slot for it. So you know. I added one....)
OT3: Pure crossovers here. Either Elena/Dawn/Caroline or Elena/Dawn/Amy. Or maybe make it an OT4?
NOTP: Dawn/Xander. For reasons I'm pretty sure we've talked about before.

Okay, I got one for the character meme: Lex. :)
And have some moving pictures to look at, since the theme is kinda fitting with you being all sick and stuff.

Date: 2014-08-27 04:43 am (UTC)We defenitely should. Especially with all the summer shows that have been on. We might be watching/had been watching the same ones and not even know it. Though never feel bad about repeating shows. I usually discover new things through memes about shows I love, or just enjoy the babbling about them. :D
And onto Lex (which is a very good choice if I do say so myself):
OTP: Chloe/Lex. This should be no surprise, they were my first otp ever, in my mind Chloe is kind of it for Lex.
OTF: Hmmm...either Lex and Lana when they were just friends/staying as friends because I did like a lot of their interactions I just didn't feel like it needed to go in that romantic direction (especially as a way to break up the Clark-Lex friendship, there are so many ways to do it that don't involve a love triangle. Come on tv writers.) But also Tess and Lex. Their relationship always fasinated me and the little hints we got were always fasinating, because we know he always knew that she was his sister and he trusted her and formed a bond with her and its sad we didn't get to see that. (I really wish that the show would have prepared better for Michael leaving and brought her into the show in S7 even just for little moments, so we could have seen them interacting before she took over when he left.)
OT3: Hmm....Chloe/Lex/Lana I guess.
NOTP: I've seen Lex/Oliver slash out there and just no. So much no. They hated each other. Literally hated each other and for good reasons on both sides. No way is that a ship that works.

Date: 2014-08-29 09:45 pm (UTC)Babbling is good, babbling is fun, babble all the time, it's always nice to have someone that doesn't mind the babbling about our favorite shows/things. <3 And I don't mind your babbling about all your shows, I can even put in my two cents about shows I don't watch if need be. ;)
I thought you might like that choice. :D
Couldn't agree more about the OTP of course. And I think I would go with Lex and Tess, since while I never minded Lex and Lana in any capacity I never really got all that into any of their interactions either. And as far as Lex and Tess go, I agree it would have been great to have Tess come on in season 7 and have them interact lots and lots. Also, can I just say that while you mentioned their friendship you didn't actually name Clark-Lex as one of your OTFs. :D I have problems with Clark-Lex, which mainly tie into my Clark issues. OH! I just recall one of my personal favorites! Lex-Martha! The few interactions they had in earlier seasons were glorious.
There are a few Lex/Chloe/other female that would make for interesting OT3s. Like also Lex/Chloe/Kara (the more awesome of the two Kryptonians added into the mix) or Lex/Chloe/Tess (we just ignore the family status between Lex and Tess.
I agree unless it's hate-sex, I don't see it, but then again I can see how somebody could spin it into them using their hate to disguise their 'true' feelings for each other, you know there's nothing that won't be bend in the world of fandom to make even the craziest ships 'work'. Personally, my NOTP would be Clex, not because I deny that there was some weird tension between them on occasion but just because Lex is too good and intense of a character for the likes of Clark. I realized today that I don't actually have a Clark ship anymore due to my Clark issues. Just a whole bunch of NOTPs for him.
