that was the old me? wasn't it?

+I'm trying to catch up on my comments and on my f-list in general. So if your inbox gets filled with things. Sorry. Also, we'll see how far I get before I get distracted/unable to write complete sentences. (I woke up far too early this morning. FAR TOO EARLY. And then the people across the street decided to make a whole lot of noise doing something. It hurt my brain. It hurt it bad.)

+Also, anyone out there get migraines/bad headaches that knows good tricks for it? I get bad migraines and I have some tricks, but I'm always open to more options. And recently life has seemed more migraine-y and less, well non-migrane-y.

+New shows are coming back soon. I'm super excited.

+Has anyone on my f-list watched Salem? I have a bunch of episodes saved on my dvr but I haven't watched it yet. I was mostly in it for Shane West and witches running Salem (because I love a good twist on things). But I don't like too much gore or too much ickiness. So I thought, maybe people had opinions? I watch SPN and I'm (usually) fine, so if it's that level of gore/supernatural/ickiness, I'd be fine. But if its more so...Well there's a reason I don't go see horror movies and its not just because I will scream in public.

+I rewatched S1 of AtS. It's a good season, I forgot how awesome it is. And Doyle's death still makes me cry every time. He's not even on my favorites list (though I do actually like him quite a bit we just don't get a lot of him), but I still cry. Also, Cordelia is perfect. I love her and her devotion to Angel, but also her never forgetting Angelus. Her faking him out with her water bottle and leaving him trapped on the bed. I love her telling Wesley to get out when he presents her with evidence that Angel might have turned. I love the friendship those two form, so different from them on BTVS, but so perfect. Like siblings almost. Siblings who kiss sometimes. Also the finale is one of my favorites. All about the misfits everyone else rejected who became a family. (Angel's line about liking both Cordelia's the helpful/homey one and the tactless one makes me happy. Because it rings so true.)

+Also, I'm going to be posting some stories on my journal that have been posted elsewhere but I don't have here. I'm sorry if I spam you. I'll try to spread it out and I'm combining some drabbles to one post, but still. I probably will. I apologize.

I've not really tried it but cinnamon candles (like the yankee candle cinnamon stick) are supposed to be a method for migraines and headaches. You could always get a sampler to try it, or some tealights?

[identity profile] lynzie914.livejournal.com 2014-05-28 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Like any cinnamon candles or specific like home remedy candles? I'm just curious. Because well, I'd know where to find the one but not the other, lol. And also, um, sorry if this makes me sound like an idiot but what are tealights?

Thank you for the suggestions. I really appreciate it.

Any cinnamon should do the trick. A tea light is a self contained really shallow candle, you normally get them in sets or bags. Yankee sell them in 12's.

Yay! And I'm actually quite fond of cinnamon, so it all works out in general. :D

Okay, after I left the comment, I thought that's what they might be, but I wasn't sure. I'm apparently not up on my candle terminology, even just the basics, LOL.

Thank you so much for this. I really do appreciate it.

have you tried putting a few drops of Eucalyptus oil into hot water and having the fumes swirl around the room while you sleep?

not eating dark chocolate is also good - well, not a lot of it

ummm.....an ice pack on your head where the headache is the worst....

those are the ones that I remember at the top of my head...apart from Excedrin Migraine and British migraine pills :D

[identity profile] lynzie914.livejournal.com 2014-05-28 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, so I may be kinds of an idiot, but how would you do that? Would you like need a humidifier or something? Or do you just have a mug of hot water with some drops in it? (Again, feel free to shake your head at me and say how has she survived this long, lol.)

Well, I don't actually like dark chocolate, so this isn't a problem for me. I do have a bit of a kit-kat addiction that has milk chocolate so if that has a similar effect, I might have to kick it.

I usually use a heating pad and that helps, but maybe I'll try an ice pack instead sometimes.

Thanks for the advice and ideas, I really do appreciate it. Migraines suck, as I'm sure you know. :D *hugs*

I'm just about to go to sleep, so I'll need to come back here tomorrow to talk about other things, but -- I want to start waching Salem too! If I get to it over the next few days, I promise to let you know how much ick there is!

Yay someone other than me that wants to watch it! I swear I saw this hype about it on tv/internet sites but nothing from anyone about actually watching the show. So I'm left with no idea what I'm getting into But thank you, I would really appreciate it, and hopefully you like it (and its not to icky so I can watch it to) and we can have another show in common. :D
