Give me a character and I will tell you...
-How I feel about this character
-All the people I ship romantically with this character
-My non-romantic OTP for this character
-My unpopular opinion about this character
-One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
-Something about them I consider true, even though it's only my head
*I have no idea what curtain fic is, so...if you pick that, you either have to explain to me or IDK expect a literal curtain somehow involved.
(All my current fandoms should be listed on my profile, as well as characters and ships, but feel free to shout out anything you want. If I'm familiar with it, I'll attempt it.)
Also, I owe people comments like crazy (Sunny you especially, I still promise that someday your inbox will be full of comments from me. Enough to drive you crazy.) And I'm sorry. I'm working on it, life just sucks and its getting in the way, and I have issues that don't help. But I love you all. I do.

Date: 2014-04-20 12:47 am (UTC)Shouldn't it though? It should definitely be a thing. I just finished power watching S7 and I realized I was disappointed by the lack of The First/Dawn interaction and it just, wouldn't this have been an awesome way to correct that? Even if it was just an episode. Even if it was a lie, used to get Dawn on her side or serve as a distraction to Buffy and the crew. I would have loved everything about it. (Though I'd prefer if it was true and The First did have the power/knowledge to draw out that side of her, because, well. Again. It needs be a thing.)
But yay! I'm glad I'm not alone in this. There was just so many places they could have gone with it, never having to make her more powerful than Buffy (since she's the hero of the story) but still reminding her that she is this powerful thing trapped within a teenage girl.

Date: 2014-05-01 05:20 pm (UTC)I've always felt that way.
Well they were comfortable enough letting Willow be more powerful than Buffy, so I don't see why not?
The series just went no where with Dawnie. (from what I understand S9 has her playing dying!damsel to Xander/Buffy and that makes me so angry I can't even)

Date: 2014-05-04 05:50 pm (UTC)I think I had forgotten who and how they had The First interact with everybody and kind of forgot that Dawn only interacted once with it. So on rewatch, it ended up being super disappointing and I realized all of the ways they could have gone with it. And also how much they seemed to forget about her Key-ness when it didn't suit the plotline.
You're Willow thoughts are very true. I always figured it was a different kind of power and that's why they let it happen, but Dawn would be the same. The power wouldn't have come from Buffy, it would have come from what she was. More so than Willow even, despite how powerful she was, she wasn't always a witch. But then, Willow was one of the core three, so I wonder if that had to do with it as well.
There were some shining moments in S7 but yeah, on rewatch there was definite disappointment of the lack of Dawn. (And I'm so glad that I don't read the Buffy comics. I think they would only drive me crazy on so many different fronts. I just wouldn't be able to handle it. Everything I've heard about them, makes me upset.)
