I'm currently frustrated, upset, angry, and fighting back the urge to cry for all of these reasons. So distraction memes! Please, PLEASE, please come and play with me.

Pick a trope from this list and provide a fandom/pairing and I’ll tell you something about the story I’d write for that combination (i.e. write a snippet from the story or write not!fic or tell you the title and summary for the story I would write)

1. road-trip
2. forced to share a bed
3. drunk!fic
4. huddling for warmth
5. pretending to be married/fake!dating
6. jealousy fic
7. amnesia
8. hurt/comfort
9. friends to lovers
10. truth or dare
11. forced proximity fic
12. fluff
13. apocalypse fic
14. curtain fic *
15. High School / College AU

Give me a character and I will tell you...

-How I feel about this character
-All the people I ship romantically with this character
-My non-romantic OTP for this character
-My unpopular opinion about this character
-One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
-Something about them I consider true, even though it's only my head

*I have no idea what curtain fic is, so...if you pick that, you either have to explain to me or IDK expect a literal curtain somehow involved.

(All my current fandoms should be listed on my profile, as well as characters and ships, but feel free to shout out anything you want. If I'm familiar with it, I'll attempt it.)

Also, I owe people comments like crazy (Sunny you especially, I still promise that someday your inbox will be full of comments from me. Enough to drive you crazy.) And I'm sorry. I'm working on it, life just sucks and its getting in the way, and I have issues that don't help. But I love you all. I do.

Dawn Summers / Amy Pond - Road Trip!

Also get better and calmer and happier soon.

(and another also, whatever you answer to this I might just... borrow for my Buffy/Who AU thingy that is plaguing me brain, if that's okay??)

((and i too wish to know what in the sam heck a curtain fic is))

Thank you! I'm working on it, definitely closer. Just not you know, that one hundred percent I'd like to be.

(Totally, use any and all of it to your liking. I mean if you like anything about it, LOL. Also, I'm super intrigued by this Buffy/Who AU thing your talking about. Have you already posted some and I just missed it or is it still to come?)

((Apparently none of us do. If someone picks it, I'm just going to incorporate a curtain in it somehow. Maybe they'll have to talk through it or something. Or they'll all be on stage.))

Also, this turned into a thing, probably WAY longer than the meme would allow. I think I broke the rules. But if you look at the comments above, I did that before too. It's not really finished or anything its just like ficlet or fic-lite or maybe almost a fic, IDK. Its a thing, that hopefully you like. Either way, sorry. My muse is easily confused and I ramble a lot in life and that somehow translates over into my writing. Also, have I mentioned how much I love the idea of Dawn/Amy? I never would have though of it on my own, but OH THE PERFECTNESS.

And I had to do two comments, because like I said, I ramble and it was too much for one. Sorry about that.

Dawn/Amy/Clara because reasons I cannot disclose without bursting into tears

(and I forgot, but Caroline Forbes/Rose Tyler)

Dawn/Amy is important and everybody should love it and rambling is always permitted because HELLO? I am ramble queen.

I am excited. I am off to read *scurries off*

Again bookmarking both of these to read later. I'm excited. (Though I have limited Rose knowledge, I started watching DW during the Amy Pond years, so I only knows what the internet tells me about the previous companions and Doctors. The plan is to go back and watch them someday.)

And yes, Dawn/Amy is totally important and now I don't now how I never thought of it before. So I feel like I should thank you for bringing it to my attention. And yay, also nice to have more ramblers around. XD

maybe we've met before (Dawn/Amy, post Buffy, post the Doctor for Amy but not canon compliant in that sense)

They met in England, though Amy is always telling her how much better everything is in Scotland. Dawn was pouring over ancient texts, translating things that no one needed at the moment but would someday. (That was her life now.) Amy was picking at a muffin and nursing a cold cup of tea and staring off in her direction.

She wasn’t purposefully staring at Dawn, she always tells her, just staring. But there was something about Dawn she thinks, something that drew her in.

They kept coming back to the same café, doing the same things, over and over again. Dawn would notice the girl with the hair like fire and Amy would notice the girl with blue eyes, that when the light hit them just right, turned green.

--

One day the red head plopped down across from girl with chestnut hair, a cup of coffee she crinkled her nose at in one hand, and her own tea in her other. “I’m Amy.”

“Dawn.” She says slowly.

Amy extends the cup of coffee. It’s just like Dawn likes it and she raises an eyebrow.

“I asked the people inside,” Amy shrugs, “So, what exactly are you doing?”

She looks around at all the old, huge, dusty books, and Dawn sighs. “Translating dead languages.”

“You’re an odd one.” Amy laughs, “I like you.”

Dawn doesn’t know when their relationship began or even why, but she remembers that moment always.

--

Amy drags her to Scotland to see the sights and her driving skills make Dawn scream.

(Dawn who has seen the end of the world too many times. Dawn who had seen so many many things, but screams at Amy’s driving.

Wasn’t it enough they were already on the wrong side of the road?)

Amy laughs, but slows down anyways.

She’s nice that way. Most of the time.

--

Amy doesn’t take her to her home town.

“Bad memories,” Is all she says and Dawn doesn’t ask questions.

“At least you have a home to go home to if you ever decide you want to.” Dawn says instead.

“What and you don’t?”

“It’s kind of a…crater.” Dawn says. It rolls of the tongue easily, it’s not the first time she said it before. It’s the people’s reactions that take the adjusting too.

Amy laughs (she’s always laughing, like she feels like someone needs to be), “I knew there was a reason I liked you.”

--

She takes Dawn to all the sights. Landmarks mixed in with pubs and hills that don’t have any meaning to anyone, even Amy herself. They lay in the grass and their hands meet like they do under the covers in their hotel rooms at night.

“There’s something special about you, isn’t there?” Amy asks.

“Isn’t there supposed to be something special about everyone?” Dawn deflects.

“Yes. But there isn’t.” Amy says, “That’s just what your parents say. You know when you have them.”

(Two girls, with memories rewritten in their heads. Changed and altered to someone else’s liking. A crack where the light gets in, leaking into Amy’s body and bleeding out of Dawn’s.

Is it any wonder they found each other?)

“I think you’re special.” Dawn says, her hand clinging tighter.

“Well of course I am.” Amy says, “I’m the girl who—I’m a girl capable of things you can’t even imagine. That no one can. I can bring a person, a man, back to life just by wanting it enough.”

Most people wouldn’t believe her. Dawn does.

“But you’re special too.” Amy turns to look at her, “You’re something…You’re something new and old all in one, aren’t you?”

“Does it matter?” Dawn asks.

“Only if it matters to you.”

--

After Scotland they go to California.

Dawn shows her the crater where she used to live (“It didn’t always look like that. We had a mall.”), shows her the beach and the winery she used to drive by and no one would ever let her set foot in because she was Dawnie and she was too young. Always too young and too old in one.

She doesn’t know yet how Amy can see that. She’s not sure she cares.

“I think I like it here.” Amy says, the two of them laying in the sand, their hands still entwined.

“Only think?” Dawn laughs, “I thought you knew everything.”

“Well, I do.” Amy says with a grin, “But no one likes a show off.”

Everything is perfect. The way they interact, the way they talk (and the way they don't) UGH. HOW?

Two girls, with memories rewritten in their heads. Changed and altered to someone else’s liking. A crack where the light gets in, leaking into Amy’s body and bleeding out of Dawn’s.

THIS IS PERFECT AND PAINFUL AND EVERYTHING - YOU UNDERSTAND!

OH YAY! I'M SOOOO GLAD YOU LIKE IT. I got so excited by the idea, but you gave these two intimidating characters to try to write (Amy especially for me) so I was worried it would come out nothing like you wanted.

And you picked out my favorite part of the fic, the part where it just clicked for of course they would find each other, they were so similar in so many ways and so different in others, but they would have that connection. And of course, Amy was attracted to ancient people masquerading as something younger. And I just, have I said how much you made me love this ship? Because you did and all future thoughts on them will be on your shoulders.

But seriously, I'm so glad you liked it and your far to kind to me *blushes at the goddess comment* and I love you for it. XD

But especially this. I cannot.

I am so pleased that people ship this. This is an important ship. Please carry on.

Oh YAY! I'm happy you liked this. And its especially nice to hear because I love how you write Dawn and well, she was intimidating to write. (I love her but loving her and writing her, big difference.)

And yay, everyone seems to be picking out my favorite part. It's just, once the idea of these two were introduced to me, it just made so much sense that they would connect on this level. And on so many others, but that was the first thing that hit.

Also agreed. It is definitely an important ship and more people should be shipping it. (You can't see me but I'm nodding as I type this.)

(That's how I feel about Buffy and Willow. Dawn and Faith are so much simpler for me - so I really appreciate and understand the challenge of this.)

but that was the first thing that hit.
This and writing.

(which is how I ship Elena/Dawn/Amy is because of writing. it's the most precious writing ot3)

It is one of the most precious and necessary ships. *nods*

There are so many characters I love that totally intimidate me to write. Its always nice when some come easier than others. Like on TVD, Caroline comes so naturally, but Bonnie and Elena, different story all together. So yeah, I think its just one of those challenges everyone phases no matter what the fandom or who the character is. Also yes, Buffy is another intimidating character, though I've never actually written her.

This and writing.

This. Definitely this. Writing it made it all make so much more sense on than just a surface level. Like as I was writing the idea of Amy being attracted old powerful beings made to look young; it gave it new levels. And made me ship it even more.

(It is a precious ot3. More people should ship them.)
