Yes! I LOVE their first scene. Nothing romantic happens in it, its not knowingly the beginnings of a love story, that's not why they're there. But it just works. He lies so badly and she just tilts her head at him, like really? And she babbles and he smiles and its all so wonderful and perfect.
I never really thought of the Chlex parallels but now that you mentioned it, I can totally see what you mean. Lex was totally amused by her snark/wit/obvious thoughts about Clark in that moment and I always loved that. And he was totally intrigued by this girl who didn't care who he was. I'm telling you, blonde tech girls. They make all the guys stand up and notice sooner or later.
The show is definitely going for the Hayley/Elijah thing and I can see it and enjoy it most of the time. But I like the relationship she's developing far slower with Klaus too. She still hates him a lot of the time, but they have similar thought patterns and goals and its interesting to see them interact. Like I said, IDK if I'd considered it really a romantic ship, more of an alliance and I'm interested where they'll go with it.
